Bruno Pannuto, 87, passed away early in the morning on January 11, 2018, following a long illness with dementia. Bruno was born in Bronx, New York, on July 13, 1930
to
Italian immigrant parents Pio
Geraldo
Pannuto and Ra
f
faela
(
Cefola) Pannuto
. His parents
each
immigrated separately to the United States
during their teenage years, and met after arriving in
the Bronx area of New York.
The
family
belonged to a large extended close-knit family,
with grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles
and
cousins
all living nearby in the same neighborhood
.
Bruno shared many fond memories of
growing up with frequent
family gatherings and
escapades with his sister, brother and many cousins.
Bruno graduated from New York University
,
College of Engineering in 1954 with a degree of Bachelor of Civil Engineering
. H
e obtained Office
r's rank in the Army through
the
R.O.T.C.
program.
H
e served as Company Commander in the Corps of Engineers, w
h
ere he obtained a rank of 1
st
Lieutenant.
As 1
st
Lieutenant he trained military engineering recruits during the Korean War.
Following his military career
,
he worked for TAMS Consulting Firm in downtown New York City
for five years
, prior to obtaining
employment as a Civil Engineer with the
Naval Weapons Center at China Lake, California, where he
enjoyed a rewarding career
for
more than 30 years.
Early in his Civil Engineering career, Bruno achieved his Professional Engineering License from the state of New York.
During his military career he served at Fort Leonardwood, in Missouri, where he met the love of his life, Jean Lorett
o
Marley
in 1955. A year later they were
married
at St. Bernard's Church
in Blencoe, Iowa,
where Jean gr
ew
up, and settled in Yonkers, New York.
In 1961 they moved from Yonkers, New York, to Ridgecrest, California
with the first three of their five daughters
, where they were blessed by two more daughters.
Bruno
was a thoug
htful and romantic husband
to his wife Jean.
He was also
a strong family man who was interested in his daughter
s'
successes in any of their endeavors.
He was an active member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.
He appreciated the outdoors, especially the ocean, and a favorite vacation pastime was to take the family to explore the local desert regions and localities.
He loved music, and he and Jean delighted in attending local dances, initially square dancing, but later
for many years
they frequently
enjoyed Big Band
dances.
He is survived by his wife Jean, and his five daughters, Bruna Faulkner (Fred), Terri, Ann Connell (Tim), Donna Ingle (Troy) and Renee Baker (Mike), eight grandchildren, Joshua Faulkner, Katie Faulkner Hair (Adam), Tyler Connell, Colburn Ingle (Kara), Lauren Ingle, Bridget Ingle, Nicholas Baker and Micaela Baker, and four great-grandchildren
,
Axl Hair, Bythe Ingle and twins Rowan and James Ingle.
Bruno is also survived by his brother Robert J. Pannuto (Rita) of Boston,
Massachusetts
, and his sister Marie R. Grady (Frank) of Williamsburg, Virginia
, and numerous nieces and nephews
.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Bella Sera for their loving care of Bruno for many months.

Services are scheduled for Friday, January 19, 2018, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, beginning at 10:
